Daher tr\u00e4gt die Stele als zentrales Motiv eine arabische Kalligraphie, die in ein flaches Relief im Stein umgesetzt wurde. Die Schriftzeichen bedeuten \u201eYa Salam\u201c, was soviel heisst wie \u201eGehe in Frieden\u201c. Gleichzeitig erinnert die Form der Buchstaben aber auch an einen tanzenden Derwisch. Zwischen dem vertieft eingehauenen Namen und dem Relief wurde eine zweite Kalligraphie eingraviert, der Vorname des Verstorbenen auf arabisch.
